Congratulations to Us
Ten years ago the unimagined happened
People who were not supposed to think for themselves thought.
People who were not supposed to stick together stuck.
People who were not supposed to challenge status quo did.
People who were not supposed to know how to do big business are doing it.
People who were not supposed to successfully take a different road from that suggested by leadership took it.
People who were never supposed to see dreams become reality dreamed and experienced reality.
A controversial issue that was rumored to irreparably divide and damage our Church did not –We trusted in God and He directed our path.
In ten years we have come from nowhere to somewhere. We are fiscally responsible in doing big business. We continue to respect ourselves and now enjoy the respect of many in business who in the past did not. The success of our Retirement Plan cannot be denied and our Church remains together with liberty and justice for all.
In these ten years the Lord has blessed us so that now we are sending monthly benefits to more than three hundred workers, surviving spouses and beneficiaries. Originally we did not plan to provide healthcare benefits. However we saw a need, filled it and now healthcare coverage is an added benefit. We originally planned to create a different retirement plan for Literature Evangelists. Because of differences in calculating benefits for salaried workers vs. commissioned workers, we thought ourselves unable to qualify our Literature Evangelist for the defined benefits plan. However, this year we hurdled all barriers and instead of creating a special retirement plan just for them, we were able to include our
Literature Evangelists into the Regional Conference Defined Benefits Retirement Plan.
The late Jim Rohn, noted personal development guru and motivational speaker said once”Let others lead small lives, but not you. Let others argue over small things, but not you. Let others cry over small hurts, but not you. Let others leave their futures in someone else’s hands, but not you.”
We have weathered the economic roller coaster of two recessions and are still standing. It is a testimony to God’s sustaining power when we try to do what is right. So here we are Ten Years Old and Growing. Living the Unimagined. “What shall we say to these things? If God be for us, who can stand against us?” (Rom. 8:31)
Praise God! Congratulations to us! Now together lets keep growing in grace and in favor with Almighty God and man.
