Driving force in the creation of the Seventh-day Adventist Regional Conference Retirement Plan (The Plan)
First Chairman of the Board for The Plan
Seven years as Executive Director for The Plan

By the grace of God we are in our twelfth year of operation and my seventh year of service as the Executive Director. The primary goal of establishing this Retirement Plan has been reached. Now we march on toward reaching the goal of Full-Funding; having in hand 100% of all the funds to pay for all the financial promises we have made to the employees of the Regional Conferences. By the grace of God our hearts are filled with gratitude for the success of the journey thus far. His grace will lead us on.

Moving around in the conferences of the North American Division of our Church, reveals that “retirement with dignity” for those on this Retirement Plan and the other retirement plans in this Division is a constantly recurring refrain. Retirement with dignity continues to be our goal.

Our faithful members and workers have always carried a Godly, thankful, Spirit-blessed pride in what the Lord accomplishes in these “earthen vessels.” Rarely was it pride in oneself. Living to be worthy of respect remains an honorable objective. We have never needed wealth to feel worthy of respect. While entering retirement without having to battle for our daily bread remains an objective, it is the knowledge that the Lord is our Shepherd that assures us that we “shall not want.”

As you visit this site, please remember that the faithfulness of God’s people provides the bounty that sustains us. Then rejoice with us as we continue the journey that leads to “Finishing the Work.”

Elaine Allston
Elaine AllstonAssistant Director
Many transplants claim California as their home but Elaine wears the distinction proudly as a native of the City of Angels, Los Angeles. Her parents selected a Christian sch ool for their only daughter; never thinking that one day, the religious beliefs taught at that academy would be adopted and embraced by their daughter. It was only natural that she would follow her new friends to Huntsville, Alabama to Oakwood, University. She finished Oakwood with a degree in Communications and a husband Thomas (Tim) Allston III)

As a nurturer, Elaine she keeps an open eye and willing hand for the seniors in the Huntsville community. Elaine is tagged as a communicator because she is the receiver of denominational news and has created a large “sharing data base” to forward noteworthy information.

Twenty years and counting, Elaine has worked in denominational service in a variety of positions:

HHES Customer Service Representative
Communication’s Assistant
Administrative Assistant/ Office Manager — Union Conference and University Administration

In 2002, Elaine joined the staff of the Regional Conference Retirement Plan as the Administrative Assistant. In 2009, she was promoted to the position of Assistant Director.

Tim and Elaine have one daughter, Morgan.

Phyllis Ware Lee

Spiritual conversion led to a life of denominational service. Little did anyone know that a “Student Outreach” group from Andrews University in 1975 would impress Phyllis to study with Sabbath keepers and continue those studies when returning home to Kansas City? She found herself in the baptismal pool under the nurturing of Iris Bright at the Linwood SDA Church.

After graduating from the University of Notre Dame with a BBA in Business/Accounting Concentration, Phyllis Ware Lee began her thirty-four year career as an accounting professional. She worked in the fields of:

Government Accounting and
Public Accounting

In 1983, she joined the Central States Conference of Seventh-day Adventist in the Accounting Department and remained there for twenty-five years. During her time served in Central States, she served as:

Assistant Treasurer
Acting Conference President — (following the premature death of Elder Paul Monk, Jr.)

Mrs. Ware-Lee currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the Regional Conference Retirement Plan in Huntsville, Alabama. She and her husband Preston E. Lee, Sr. reside in Toney, Alabama.
